Terms of use
These terms cover this website and nothing else. If you engage us to build or run something, a separate written agreement governs that work — and it, not this page, sets the commercial terms.

1. About these terms
These terms apply to your use of this website. By browsing it or sending us an enquiry, you accept them. If you do not, please stop using the site.
Nothing on this website is an offer, a quote or a contract. Prices, timelines, inclusions and figures are published so you can judge whether we are worth a conversation. They are indicative and subject to change. A binding arrangement only exists once both of us sign a written agreement for specific work.
2. Who we are
First Pilot Inc., an AI automation firm operating from Ontario, Canada and serving clients in Canada and the United States. Reach us at info@firstpilotinc.ca.
3. Using this website
You may read this site, share links to it, and use the enquiry form to contact us. You may not:
- submit false information, or submit on someone else's behalf without their authority;
- use the enquiry form to send us unsolicited marketing;
- attempt to disrupt the site, or to access any part of it you have not been given access to;
- copy substantial parts of the site to republish as your own;
- scrape the site to train a machine learning model without asking us first.
Automated submissions to the enquiry form are detected and discarded. We may block access from a source that is abusing the site.
4. Acceptable use, and security testing
Please do not run automated vulnerability scanning against this site without asking. If you want to test something, email info@firstpilotinc.ca with "Security report" in the subject and we will coordinate with you. We will not pursue anyone who reports a genuine finding in good faith and gives us a reasonable chance to fix it before publishing.
Separately, and because people ask before they enquire: there is work we decline. We do not build systems that claim to be human, that contact people who have not consented or who are on a do-not-call list, that use a real person's name or cloned voice without their documented consent, or that make medical, legal or financial decisions without a person in the loop. If you contact us about that kind of project, we will say no.
5. The information on this site
We have tried to make this site specific rather than vague, which means it contains numbers. Please read them for what they are:
- Prices and timelines describe how we normally work. Your actual price and schedule are set in a written quote after we have looked at your situation. Usage-based costs, such as per-minute call charges, depend on the rates of the third-party platform involved and on your volume, so any figure we give for them is an estimate.
- Performance figures are design targets and illustrative examples. They are not a prediction about your business and not a guarantee. Your results depend on your volume, your content, your team, your market and the third-party platforms involved.
- The savings calculator on the home page is a simple model driven entirely by numbers you type in, with its assumptions printed next to the result. It is an illustration, not a forecast, and nothing you enter is sent to us.
- Integration names indicate what we have built against before. They are not a promise that a particular integration will work for your configuration.
We may change any of this without notice. We do not warrant that the site is complete, current or error-free.
6. How AI systems behave, and what that means
This matters more for us than for most companies, so it is stated plainly rather than buried.
AI systems are probabilistic. A well-built agent with an approved scope, refusal rules and grounded retrieval is reliable enough to do real work — that is our whole business — but it is not deterministic software, and we will not describe it as though it were. We do not warrant that the output of an AI system will be accurate, complete or free of errors. Concretely:
- An agent can misunderstand an accent, a poor line or an unusual request. Escalation paths exist because of this, not in spite of it.
- A chat agent is designed to answer from sources you approve and to show what it used. Where it cannot ground an answer it is configured to say so and offer a person, not to speculate.
- Output quality depends on the accuracy of the content you give us. Stale content produces confidently stale answers.
- Our practice is to build human approval gates into anything financial, legal or clinical, and to decline requests to remove them.
- Deployments we build are configured to disclose that they are automated at the start of the conversation.
7. Third-party tools and platforms
Most of what we build runs on tools and platforms owned by other companies: voice platforms, telephone carriers, AI model providers, automation and integration tools, calendars, CRMs and hosting. We select and configure them. We do not own or control them.
- Each third-party service is provided under its own terms, privacy policy and pricing. Using a system we build may require you to hold your own account with a provider and to accept its terms.
- Usage charges are set by the provider. Voice calls are charged per minute, based on the rates of the voice platform and carrier that handle them, and other tools charge at their own rates. Those rates can change, and the total moves with your volume.
- To the extent the law permits, we are not responsible for a third-party service's availability, performance, accuracy, security, data handling, price changes, changes to its features, or its withdrawal — or for any loss that results from them.
- You are responsible for how a system is used in your business, including the content you give it and compliance with the laws that apply to you, such as call-recording, consent and telemarketing rules.
8. Intellectual property
The design, text, code, icons and illustrations on this website belong to us. You may link to any page, and quote short extracts with attribution. You may not reproduce the site or substantial parts of it as your own.
"First Pilot" and our logo are our marks. Nothing here grants you a licence to use them.
9. Third-party names and links
We name other companies' products where we have built integrations with them. Those names and marks belong to their owners, we display no third-party logos, and we claim no endorsement, affiliation or partnership beyond a working integration.
Where we link to another site, we are not responsible for its content or its privacy practices.
10. No warranty
This website is provided as is and as available. To the extent the law permits, we make no warranties about it — express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement — and we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, secure or free of errors.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits anything that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or any right you have under applicable consumer protection legislation.
11. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law permits, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of, or reliance on, this website — including lost profits, lost revenue, lost business, lost data or any indirect or consequential loss. That includes loss arising from the output of an AI system, from a decision made in reliance on that output, and from any third-party tool or platform.
This website is free to use. To the extent the law permits, our total liability to you in connection with it is limited to the amount you paid us to use it.
You are responsible for any loss we suffer because you breach section 3 or 4 of these terms.
This section is about the website. Liability arising from work we actually do for you is dealt with in the signed agreement for that work, not here.
12. Privacy
How we handle personal information is set out in our privacy policy. In short: this site sets no cookies of its own, runs no analytics and carries no third-party trackers, the enquiry form goes to an inbox a person reads, and the Calendly booking calendar on the contact page loads only if you open it. The technical controls behind that are described on the security page.
13. If we work together
We do not publish our client terms, because a standing set of public commercial terms would mean committing to numbers before knowing your situation. Instead, each engagement has its own written agreement, covering matters such as:
- the scope of work, the deliverables, and what is explicitly out of scope;
- fees, what triggers each invoice, and payment terms;
- the term, how either of us ends it, and what happens to your data when it ends;
- support and response commitments appropriate to what we are running for you;
- how personal information is handled, including where it is stored, how long it is kept, and the instructions we act on;
- who is responsible for call-recording notice and consent, and for the lawful basis for any outbound contact;
- ownership of your data and your configuration, and how you export them;
- confidentiality, liability and the rest of the usual commercial terms.
If something on this website matters to your decision, ask us to write it into that agreement. Statements on this website describe how we normally work; they are not terms of any agreement unless they are written into it.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada. The courts of Ontario have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute about this website, except where the law that applies to you does not allow that.
If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply and that provision is limited to the minimum extent necessary.
15. Changes
We may update these terms. The effective date at the top of this page changes when we do, and the version in force is the one published here when you use the site. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
